Academics

The curriculum at WIS

The curriculum at Wellspire International School is rooted in the National Curriculum of the United Kingdom and thoughtfully adapted to meet the educational needs, cultural context, and learning aspirations of students in India. This integrated approach ensures global academic standards while nurturing local values, languages, and real-world relevance. This ensures our learners gain international exposure while staying connected to their roots and local culture.

Our Core Belief: Education That Inspires

At the heart of our school lies a simple yet powerful philosophy: education should nurture curiosity, creativity, and confidence in every child. We believe that learning is not just about absorbing information—it’s about discovering joy in the process, asking meaningful questions, and building genuine connections between classroom concepts and the vibrant world beyond our walls.

Every day, our students are encouraged to explore their interests, challenge their thinking, and develop the essential life skills that will serve them well into adulthood. We’re not just preparing children for tests; we’re preparing them for life.

Three Pillars of Learning at WIS

Enjoy Learning

Enjoy Learning
We cultivate an environment where children discover the intrinsic joy of learning. When students are genuinely engaged and curious, education becomes an exciting adventure rather than a chore

Think Critically

Our students develop the ability to analyze, question, and evaluate information thoughtfully. Critical thinking empowers them to navigate complex challenges with confidence and creativity.

Build Life Skills

Beyond academics, we focus on developing essential competencies— communication, collaboration, resilience, and adaptability—that prepare children to thrive in our dynamic, ever-changing world.

Curricular Areas (Based on EYFS Framework)

The EYFS curriculum is organised around seven key areas of learning and development:

The curriculum emphasizes play-based, inquiry-driven, and experiential learning, encouraging children to explore, imagine, and express themselves with confidence and joy. Our early years environment promotes play, exploration, creativity, and curiosity, helping every child build a strong foundation for lifelong learning

Grades 1 to 5 – Cambridge Curriculum

At Wellspire International School, Grades 1 to 5 follow the Cambridge Primary Curriculum, which provides a strong foundation in core subjects while fostering creativity, inquiry, and global awareness. Students study the following subjects:

English

(Cambridge – Stage 1 level)

Mathematics

Cambridge – Stage 2 level)

Science

(Cambridge – Stage 2 level)

This stage lays the groundwork for conceptual clarity, communication, and global awareness, ensuring alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 through a focus on experiential, multidisciplinary learning.

Grades 6 and 7 – Integrated Curriculum

Grades 6 and 7 follow an Integrated Curriculum that blends Cambridge and NCERT frameworks to strengthen both international and national learning standards. Subjects include:
This integrated approach ensures continuity with the Cambridge framework while embedding NEP’s vision of flexibility, conceptual depth, and real-world connection.

Pedagogical Approach – Active Learning

Across all stages, Wellspire adopts an Active Learning Pedagogy, where:

Student-Centered Learning

The responsibility of learning shifts from teacher to student.

Hands-On Engagement

Students engage through hands-on projects, collaborative learning, inquiry-based exploration, and reflection. This approach builds confidence, curiosity, and lifelong learning habits.

At Wellspire International School, learning extends beyond the classroom through a wide range of enrichment programs that nurture character, leadership, and global citizenship. These programs are designed to complement academic learning and align with the NEP 2020 vision of holistic education.

Enrichment Programs for Holistic Development

In collaboration with DUCO, the Junior International Award for Young People (IAYP) encourages students to set and achieve goals in areas such as sports, cultural pursuits, community service, and skill development. It promotes self- discipline, teamwork, and resilience — key attributes of global citizens.
Students actively participate in the Bharat Scouts and Guides movement, where they learn values of service, leadership, and responsibility. The program builds essential life skills through outdoor learning, teamwork, and community-based activities.
The Life Skills Program is woven across all grades, focusing on emotional intelligence, communication, decision- making, and self-management. Through interactive workshops, reflection circles, and real-world projects, students develop the confidence and adaptability needed for lifelong success.
